Patrick's Story
My awakening to the realities of cancer began in 1997 when my mom was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. She was successfully treated, but the disease returned twice.
She underwent treatment a second and third time, and I'm very happy to report that today she is enjoying a very active, healthy life.
I learned a lot during my mother's illness. I found out how important it is to have access to good, reliable resources to help the patient, family members and caretakers. After this experience, I knew that I wanted to make a difference, to give back to the community that helped my mom through her cancer journey.
With the help of Central Maine Medical Center, we've created The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing.
Our program is dedicated to providing high quality education, support and wellness services. I urge you to explore this website and discover what resources are available should you or a loved one confront a cancer diagnosis.
