About the Healing Tree Children's Program
A cancer diagnosis in a family impacts every member. In the greater field of oncology, an often overlooked but especially vulnerable population, are the children attached to the person with the serious illness. Whether they are dependent children, teenagers, a friend, or the child next door, these young people can carry a heavy burden of stress and concern for those they love.
When the loved one with cancer is a primary caregiver, many more factors related to the cancer diagnosis have a direct impact upon these children’s lives. We believe that well supported children are an integral part of health, hope and healing for all involved.
With this in mind, The Healing Tree Children’s Program is committed to providing the highest quality of cancer education, support, and wellness services to enhance the quality of life of children, families and communities touched by cancer.
As with all the programs of The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing, these services are offered free of charge.
