DESCRIPTION:Craft a Bouquet that Tells a Story! Flowers have long been used to express what words sometimes cannot—joy\, gratitude\, love\, remembrance\, hope\, and care. In this creative and reflective workshop\, participants will explore the rich symbolism of flowers and the ways they help us honor our experiences\, relationships\, and emotions.\nTogether\, we will discuss the “Language of Flowers” and how blooms have served as meaningful messengers across cultures and generations. Participants will use a flower meanings guide and have the opportunity to create a small bouquet that reflects a personal story\, intention\, or message for themselves or someone special.\nFlowers and crafting materials will be provided\, with many blooms lovingly harvested from the Dempsey Gardens. This workshop offers a gentle opportunity for creativity\, reflection\, and connection.\nOptional: Participants are welcome to bring small items that hold personal meaning\, such as mini vases\, photographs\, poetry\, charms\, or other keepsakes to incorporate into their floral creation.\nNo floral design experience is needed—just a willingness to explore\, create\, and connect.\n\nOpen to adult Dempsey Center clients.\n\nLed by Tricia Gilbert and volunteer\, Glenys Sayward.

DESCRIPTION:No sessions November 11 or 25.\n \nExplore creativity as a way to express\, reflect and connect in this welcoming class for people living with cancer and their care partners. Over the course of five-week sessions\, ArtVan’s art therapists will lead a variety of creative activities tailored to Dempsey Center clients. Participants will develop modes of creative self-expression to address themes and emotions that can be hard to communication with words in order to promote transformational healing. No experience necessary.\n\nOpen to adult Dempsey Center clients with a cancer diagnosis at any stage and care partners.\n\nLed by Art Therapists from ArtVan.
