The Tuna Challenge is an event in memory of Clayton Anderson. Clayton Anderson grew up in Cumberland, Maine. He worked at his family business, Anderson Lobster Traps, did landscaping and numerous jobs at Toddy Brook golf course. Clayton enjoyed being outdoors and loved outdoor activities and games. He was a member at Val Halla and Toddy Brook where he was club champion three times. Over his lifetime he had six hole in ones and shot two 66 rounds and was sometimes called “Golden Boy” by those who thought he was just lucky. Clayton was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer on November, 13, 2013 and passed away shortly after on September 24, 2014. Clayton loved life and the many friends he met along his journey. He always lived his life with true optimism. Even after his diagnosis he continued to live with grace. We donate the proceeds of this tournament to the Dempsey Center and the future Clayton’s House in hopes of helping ease other’s pain when they or a loved one is diagnosed with cancer.
