POSITION: Clayton’s House Maintenance Volunteer
DEPARTMENT: Clayton’s House
REPORTS TO: House Manager
LOCATION: Portland, ME

Schedule & Hours Commitment:

Normally the shifts will be three hours long. Monday- Thursday, shifts will be between 8:30am and 5:30pm.  Shifts on Friday will be between 8:30a and 2:30p.

Position Summary:

Assist the House Manager with maintenance and upkeep, such as annual painting (inside and outside), house repairs, spring clean-up, light gardening, and basement organization. Identification of projects will be compiled by the House Manager.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

The position may  include a small amount of driving.

Required Skills and Experience:

Required Education or Certifications:

• Must hold valid Maine driver’s license and auto insurance and be willing to use personal vehicle for volunteer-related tasks

Physical Requirements:

• This is a physically active job. Standing for long periods of time, bending over, carrying weight for a distance are all possible expectations.

General Requirements:

• Must attend Dempsey Center Culture Training
• Maintains professional behavior, dress and appearance at all times while volunteering
• Must use discretion and protect the confidentiality of all Dempsey Center clients.; HIPAA-specific training will be provided.
• Must complete background check and have/or opt out of flu shot.
