Living Well With Chronic Pain- South Portland

If you or your loved one is living with chronic pain related to a cancer experience this workshop will benefit you.

Living Well with Chronic Pain is a 6-session workshop that meets weekly for 2.5 hours each session, and is designed to help people who suffer from chronic pain conditions learn strategies to manage their pain, improve their health, and get back to a more rewarding life.

Participants learn how they can:

  • Manage activity levels to reduce pain
  • Deal with problems like frustration, fatigue, isolation, and poor sleep
  • Evaluate treatment options
  • Communicate effectively with family, friends, and health professionals
  • Use action plans to create and achieve personal goals

Living Well with Chronic Pain can help if you:

  • Experience chronic pain
  • Experience a “yo-yo” effect with your pain that makes it difficult to do the things you want to do
  • Want to take charge of your health and learn strategies to improve your symptoms

Living Well with Chronic Pain is offered by the Healthy Living for ME, was developed at Stanford University and is made possible through grant funding from the Administration for Community Living.
