The board of directors of the Dempsey Center is conducting a search for a passionate and proven leader to serve as the Center’s next Executive Director.
Responsible for supporting the Dempsey Center mission, vision, values, and work culture, the clinician in this position will provide counseling, information, referrals and education to people of all ages, with a concentration on youth, young adult and families, whose lives are impacted by cancer, including cancer patients/survivors, loved ones/families, care partners, parents/guardians and bereaved individuals.

In order to help maintain or improve quality of life, the primary clinical focus of the clinician includes fostering coping and adaptation to cancer and its effects.
The Oncology Massage Therapist is a Licensed Massage Therapist who provides therapeutic massage to Dempsey Center clients for the promotion of general wellness and the reduction of stress and pain. The Massage Therapist provides virtual and in-person classes and consultations.
The Major Gift Officer (MGO) supports and advances the Dempsey Center’s mission by identifying, developing, and maintaining meaningful relationships with organizations and individuals to attract and sustain resources that support the Center’s vision, values, and organizational culture. The MGO is responsible for developing strategies for the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major donors and corporate partners. This position will help reimagine the current giving program, and in addition to working a prospect pool, will also be responsible for maintaining and enhancing relationships with existing donors and corporate partners.
The Volunteer Coordinator supports and advances the Dempsey Center’s mission by recruiting, on-boarding, training, and engaging Center volunteers, primarily for our South Portland Center as well as Clayton’s House in Portland. Working with the Volunteer Coordinator-Lewiston and as an integral member of the Operations Team, the Volunteer Coordinator will support the Center’s vision, values, and organizational culture by integrating the Volunteer Service Enterprise initiative into the Center’s overall organizational development strategy. This position also supervises several of the centers larger volunteer teams.
The Client Services Specialist (CSS) supports and advances the Dempsey Center’s mission by supporting front desk operations in both Lewiston and South Portland, helping to connect clients to services through phone calls, virtual conferencing, leading introductions and orientations to the Center, assisting and supporting clients as needed. The CSS manages the client intake process, scheduling of appointments and serves as the first point of contact for people visiting the Center.
