Purpose of Position

The role of the Operations/Facilities Volunteer is to provide services to enhance the client experience and assists the delivery of the center’s mission. This is accomplished by taking responsibility for the overall look and feel of the facility and serving primarily in a supporting role with daily functions for direct services, programs, and volunteer groups.

Commitment

4 or 8 hours per week

Regular duties include

  • Review daily program calendar and work with the programming staff accordingly for;
    • Set up of program rooms for use of equipment, tables and chairs
    • Restoring programs rooms after use
  • Working closely with the front office point person of the day and programming staff
  • Refresh coffee kiosk with supplies
  • Shelving of delivered supplies (office/paper), and library books
  • Distribution of delivered small packages and mail
  • Support demo and staff kitchen coordination
  • Sanitize and/or laundering equipment and supplies for the health and fitness room
  • Distribute Quarterly Program Guides to CMHC offices and practices
  • Tag, shelve and inventory comfort items such as quilts, support pillows and hats
  • Minor recycling of cardboard and paper
  • Recording of own volunteer hours
  • Complete orientation and training as needed for the position
  • Attend a standard 4-6 hour Dempsey Center culture training session
  • Other duties and projects as assigned
